These are gorgeous paua shell, post earrings. The paua shell is known for its stand out beauty in abalone/shell jewelry. I acquired these earrings many years ago. I thought they were the skilled work of a Native American artist. However, I have been unable to find any reference to the particular flying 'bee' or 'bug' in Native American jewelry marks. I'm going with the New Zealand reference as the signature bee is the same as on these earrings.
